- In the townland of Gortmacall adjacent to Milford, Co. Donegal, lived a farmer named Andrew Callaghan. He was a bachelor and lived alone in his farm which he sold a few years before his death to Mr. Diamond of Milford. His house is now in ruins.
At this time of his death about twenty years ago he was a man of eighty years of age.
In Andrew's early years faction fighting was common in this part of the country. Sometimes it was catholics against Protestants and sometimes people of one family connection against another family group.
