- There is a story told about the fort on Mrs Gallaghers hill.
The old people say that this is where the Danes hid from the Irish.
There is a hole from one end to the other.
Some people are afraid to go over this fort after night as I heard my father say that he heard an old man, called Samuel Ritchie who used to live in our house before we came to it, say that there were fairies with lights seen by himself there.
At the foot of this fort in through fairy thorns there is the shape of a pint pan cut out in a rock by the Danes but of course it is mostly all covered by fairy thorns now.- Collector
