  1. There was an old woman called "Herring Beccy" who always went round selling herring that she carried about in two "creels" or baskets.
    These "creels" were tied on her shoulders by ropes.
    One evening as she was out on her rounds she sat down to rest on the edge of of a little bridge, call the "Crooked bridge" beside Glentidally School she fell over the edge and one of the ropes that was holding on the "creel" caught on her neck and so she was hanged.
