    handful of oatmeal which he put in a little can. He had a loud voice and a very grim bearded face, was always cross and snappy and children looked on him as a sort of "ogre". He hated children, and never went near his own people. Some nine or ten years ago he was found dead in a lonely spot called the back leas at Drumboe. He had apparently missed the path through the woods and got lost when going to a house where he was staying at night at that time, and died from exposure before he was discovered. He thought he had a cure for toothache but always made some excuse when asked(mostly by some wag) to bring the charm into operation.
