This would probably be over a hundred years old, and made in a local forge. Even the early grapes of this century are 4-pronged.This is a drawing of a pipe-clay-pipe which was found while setting potatoes in a field on his father’s farm on May 4th 1938, by Willie Carlin, Bealalt, Castlefin Co Donegal.The above is a muzzle-loader shotgun in the possession of Mr. Joseph Carlin, Bealalt, Castlefin, Co Donegal. The barrel is 38” long the stock 29th. Local length = 54”. It has a double-cock trigger, -one for safety, the other for ‘the ready.’(continues on next page)
