    and cotton seed cake that is for the winter only as they are put out to grass, in spring and summer. Some people name their cows. When you go to the field in summer when the cows are at grass to bring them in for milking at morning and night you call howa, howa, howa, to them and they will come to the gate.

    The general breed of pig in this districk is the white Irish and the white Ulster. They are kept in small houses called pig sty. Some of the farmers go in for breeding young ones and sell them at seven weeks old, others feed them to the weight of two cwts and sell them for bacon. The pigs are feed in this district on potatoes and milk.
    The poutry on the farms around here are a mixed breed. They get running about the farm yard and get three feeds of potatoes and meal with a feed of corn in the evening before they go into the hen houses. they perch up on stiches about four feet from the ground.
