    burning. The burning of lime goes back to hundreds of years ago. In this school district there are four limekilns. This district has a limestone bottom. The stones are hard to quarry. They are quarried with wedges and a crowbar. The rocks are small when they are quarried. When the rocks are quarried they are carted to the kiln. They are then broken into small stones and put into the kiln in layers. Coal is put into the kiln first. Then the stones are put in layers into the kiln. Between the layers coal is put. Stones are put on the top.
