- There are six in this Parish. There is one in Tooban, one in Bridge End, one in Skeoge, one in Inch, and one in Burt and one in Birdstown.
My father owns the one in Tooban. His grandfather was a smith whose name was John Millar. One forge is beside a little stream. There is a wooden roof on it, and a square door.
There are two fireplaces in it but only one is in use. The outside of the bellows is sycamore. Wheels are bent and shod in the open air.
My father makes harrows, drill ploughs, grubbers, and gates. The forge is supposed to cure warts.- Collector
