    Burnfoot R.I.C Barracks and Court House were burned down in 1922.

    to get ladders and climb into the roof which the battered in with sledge hammers in order to prevent the flames spreading to the others houses. But about nine am the fire burned out, the barrack being then a smouldering ruin. Portions of of the walls still remain. It does seem likely that it will ever be re built.
