    There was another man in this district who made songs his name was Charlie Downey and he lived in Mullaney. He made a song about a man who used to be a station master at Carrowen. The man's name he made the song about was James Calvin. His daughter helped him to make this song. This man is dead about twenty four years ago and he was buried in Newtowncunningham. He also was a farm labourer. There was also another old man who made songs. His name was McSwiny. He used to go from house to house singing songs and his songs were about strikes.
