    a day for this porridge. This place is where Mr Hall is living now.
    At Colonel Bowns Burt House they gave out clothes to the people and they and they also gave out boots. The people had to go to MacArthur of Carnamaddy first for a certificate to get these clothes.
    In the time of the famine also the people shilling seeds as we call them from the mills and these seeds were steeped in cracks or in those barrels for a week or three days. These were called sowns. They were then boiled and strained through a fine sieve and then boiled again and then they left them until they thickened before they ate them.
