- In the War time a Ship was put down out side Lough Swilly in the year 1917. She was torpeoded by a submarine and about 90 dead bodies were washed ashore. There was 86 buried in Churchtown grave yard and 4 buried in Cockhill grave yard Buncranna.
There was another sailing yaught put down between Fahan pier and Inch and (there) three young boys were drowned. She was struck by a heavy squall of wind from the East.- Collector
