- (continued from previous page)and Dunree Fort he took three hunderweight up the side of Dunree Hill. He took a hundredweight bag of cement under each arm and one across in front of him. When he was working at the Fort he had to carry cement to the mixer a from the shed that was about a distance of twenty yards. Each time he would take out four hunderweight a two hunderweight bag under each arm. He used to have a very wild horse.
- Dan the Fiddler Harkins was a noted character in the parish. He lived some way up the hill and the wall steads of his house are to be seen. He was called the Fiddler because he made(continues on next page)
