- There were a lot of beliefs about the days of the year.
It is said that the twelve days from Christmas Day to Epiphany represented the twelve months of the year. If the twelve days are warm it will be a fine year and if the twelve are wet it will be a wet year.
It used to be believed round that if you found a horse on New Year's Day you would have luck all the year. It used to be thought that if you paid out money on New Year's Day you would be paying out money all the year. If you were paid money on New Year's Day you would getting money all the Year.
It used to be thought that if you flitted to a house on a Saturday that you would not stay very long in it.
