Nest building is done in Spring and early Summer.
Some of these birds are beautiful singers.
In the month of April and swallows come to our country. These birds build their nests in barns, byres and stables. The materials these birds use are mud, straw, sticks, bog and heathers.
When their nests are built they go round and round to make them smooth and warm.
They lay from four to five eggs, these eggs are small with red spots on them.
The mother sits in the eggs for three weeks.
When the young swallows come through the shell the mother bird is very busy finding food for them.
