    The tether stick is driven into the ground.
    This smaller stick is used to keep the snare steady.
    When a rabbit runs into it this copper wire hangs the rabbit.
    During the month of August and September lots of people set snares in the fields and glens. Larger and stronger snares are made to catch hares and badger. A dull is set to catch snipe. Three horse hairs are plaited together; then a running loop is put on the end of it.
    Three dulls are made like that; then the three are tied on a straight stick about eighteen inches long.
    This stick is left flat on the ground on a very Marshy place with the loops over small holes of water; then two forked sticks are got
