- The people in olden times got three meals a day. They got potatoes and oat porridge in the morning, and at dinner time they got potatoes and fish. The potatoes were put in a creel in the centre of the floor and the people sat around it.
They got oat porridge in the evening. They drank sweet milk to every meal. The people used oat bread, they made the oat bread with hot water and oat meal. They also ate potato bread. On Shrove Tuesday they baked pancakes, and on Easter Sunday they ate eggs.- Collector
