- On Saint Bridget's Day the people make rush crosses. The way they are made is, one rush is plaited through another. They are made all sizes, whatever size you want. They are made by the family. They are placed in the outhouses and also in the kitchen. Holly is put up round the house at Christmas. The people take palms to the chapel on Palm Sunday to be blessed. When they bring them home they hang them up in the houses.
