    The Local fairs were held long ago and are yet in Carndonagh. Some buyers come to the farm-houses in the locality and buy young calves and cows from the people at a good price still
    Long ago fairs were held at Muff and at the cross-roads of Gleneely. These fairs are discontinued now. The fair in Muff was stopped because a man was killed by a motor at it.
    The town fairs are not held in the streets but in a park behind the town kept for the purpose.
    When an animal is sold by a man to another man the seller has to give back a half-crown or something as luck money. When he sells a calf or a cow to any dealer, the dealer spits on whatever money he has to give and then holds out the seller's hand and with the money in his own hand he slaps the other man's hand heavily and gives him the money.
