    One time an old man was out cutting rushes in a field. Two fairies came up to him and asked him to come with them.

    again. As soon as the old man got the tea he said he was going home. One of the fairies came out with him and told him to not tell anybody where he was and told him to be back again. As soon as he went home he told his wife where he was. When the next night came he went to the same place. As soon as he went in the door all the fairies had big sticks and they battered him black and told him to go home and tell that to his wife.
    This story was told by John Doherty (Shoe), Craigtown, Carndonagh, Co. Donegal. Age 70 years. He lived all his life in Ireland.
