- Local Fairs
Local fairs are usually held in towns or large cities. I have never heard of any fairs held in the country or even at crossroads. Fairs are always held in the same place in our village. In Moyville there is a place for the cattle called the Cow Park. The horse market is held in the diamond, a large square in get centre of the town. The pigs and sheep are sold in the market house. We always have to pay tolls for the cattle.We have to pay three pence for cattle, and a penny each for a sheep or a pig on being driven out of the park. The owner and buyer are not ? responsible for the payment of this toll. Usually when cattle are sold you have to give your purchaser a luck penny. You give your purchaser luck money according to the price of the animal. When a bargain is being made the seller and the purchaser always have a hard bit of talk, and they often link(continues on next page)- Collector
