There were very many old houses in my town land in former times.
Ruins?
There are about eight ruins in my town land.
One of these ruins belonged to Mr Bradley, and another belonged to Mr McLaughlin. Another of these ruins belonged to Mr Doherty.
Did many people leave?
Scores of them left and went to Scotland and England and many went to America.
I don't know any song or saying.
The most of the land is good but there are a few boggy marchy spots in Ruskey also. There is a wood about half an acre in size. There are two rivers which surround Ruskey and there are a few streams that run into them. There was a woman drowned in one of these rivers.- Collector
