I can find out from has ever heard of any special bread being made on any occasion.
The following is an old rhyme about the making of the boxty bread:-
The Boxty Mill began to shill
To remind you of a fiddle,
She gave it a squeeze betwixt her knees
And clapped it on the griddle.
The boxty was first made during the famine.
