    The potatoes are stored both in lofts and in pits. The potatoes for immediate use being stored in a loft and the ones for latter use put in pits.
    The pits are made in the field in which the potatoes grow and are various sizes, the potatoes being put into them as they are picked.
    There are a great many different varieties of potatoes grown in this district, the most popular varieties of present are Kerr's Pink, and Arran Bannon and for the main crop Epicure Ruby-queens for early use Starch is still obtained by some from potatoes.
    Any potatoes that the farmer does not use, is sent to the Alcoholic factory at Carndonagh.
