The smith said to the devil "That's a public house and I never passed it with out going in to it" and he told the devil to turn himself into a halfcrown.Then the devil turned himself into a halfcrown and the smith put it in his purse and the devil began to jump in his purse. The smith had money of his own but he did not tell the devil about it and he went into the public house and got a drink and
