  1. Long ago in Ireland the rents were very high and they people were very poor. They Landlords in that time were great tyrants they could turn a man out in a few days if he didn't pay his rent. They would also make the farmers come and give them free days working the land and the tenant that would not come he would be put out of his farm or his rent would be raised.
    There was a man elected named Michael Davitt and sent over to the British parlaiment to fight for Irelands right. This was a very honest man and fought very hard for Ireland's right because he knew what the landlords were when his father was evicted when he was young. This man started the land league which all the people joinged. He held many meetings through the country. He held meetings opposite the
