    What it is -
" Cratar " is a coarse moss which grows on rocks; from it, the old people used to make an oil for use as a dressing in the case of burns or scalds.
How made - Washed in soft or luke warm water, wrung or squeezed in a cloth, boiled in fresh or unsalted butter, then the liquid was separated from the sediment, when cold the liquid or oil was applied to the burn or scald with a feather.
