  2. Once upon a time there was a girl in Ballybawn and she took a terrible pain in her ear. So the doctor told her that she would need to keep heat on it. Every day the pain got worse, and "she had near to go mad" and so she sent for the doctor again.
    When the doctor came he told her mother that he might have to open
