- Once upon a time, long ago, three giants were debating on the top of Slieve Snact as to which of them could throw a stone the greatest distance. The eldest said he could throw the farthest and the other said he was a liar because he himself could throw further than any of them. In the end they took up one stone each and threw it. The first landed in a field in Norrira, the second landed in a field in Carrowmore and the third in a field in Balleghan.
A standing stone remains in each of these fields till the present day.Told by Robert Colhoun, Ballelaghan, Malin, Co. Donegal- Collector
