- A ship called the Twilight was sunk near Malin Head a number of years ago.
No lives were lost. This ship had a cargo of timber. After the wreck the whole strand was covered with boards.
The timber was distributed through the district. The hull of this ship is still sticking in the sand at the bar mouth. At an earlier date the "Mary Ann" was wrecked near the same spot. In this wreck all hands were lost. This ship had a cargo of flour.
Some people say these boats were wrecked by a fairy ship that sails under the water.- Collector
