- It was the custom in olden times to have a spinning. One women in the West Town went round and asked her neighbours to come with their wheels and cards. There was no clocks at that time and this woman rose very early and put on a fire. When she had the fire on the door opened and in came a woman with her wheel and sat down. In(continues on next page)
