    the fire was in the middle of the floor. When you went into the houses you could slide down to the fire, the floors were so slanted, and going up to the room there were two steps.
    The bottom of a bottle was used for the windows, because they were afraid the Land-Lord would raise the rent on them. The stuff that was used for the fire was called dhogeogs.
