    heard him, and he said if he was a gentleman he would not say that to the dog. So he said he would find out if it were Squire Kennedy's son from Galway that was married to his daughter. He sent one of his servants at once over to Galway to see if it was so. After some enquiries he was directed to the so called Squire's house. It was a little sod house and he kept some goats in it. There were holes in it for them to hop in and out. It happened that the Squire was eating his dinner when the stranger called to see him. The table he was eating his dinner off was a "cleeve" turned upside down. He asked was he Squire-Kennedy? "I am." replied the old man. When he had his dinner eaten he cleaned his hands with a bit of grass and threw it into the fire. The servant went back to his master and told him that it was true that he was Squire-Kennedy's son. He said that he never saw more windows in any house than there were in Squire-Kennedy's. He said that he never saw more legs under any table than there were under the table he ate his dinner off. The towel he wiped his hands in was never used again. It was burned immediately. So he had to take it for granted that it was Squire-Kennedy's son that
