- Lore of Certain Days
I have heard of lucky and unlucky days. Friday is supposed to be a lucky day for changing from one house to another, and Saturday is an unlucky day for doing so.
There is an old saying which is "Saturday's flitting is a short sitting" which means that if you move into another house on Saturday, you will not stay long. There are lucky and unlucky days for getting married. I have heard a recitation about it. This is it:
Monday for wealth,
Tuesday for health,
Wednesday the best day of all.
Thursday for crosses,
Friday for losses,
And Saturday for no day at all."
There is also a rhyme about the different birthdays.
"Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for his living,(continues on next page)- Collector
