The "puca" is supposed to be a fairy who goes around on a white horse destroying the blackberries. On St Stephen's night mummers go around the houses. They usually dress up in old coats, hats, and false faces. When the mummers enter a house they first act a play and then some of them sing songs or play a mouth organ.
