    something to hide. Other children hide their faces while the thing is being hid. The person who hides it says "hide and go seek a penny a week" and all the children go and look for it. Every year the feast of Hallow E'en is celebrated. Nuts are gathered and bought. There are games played with them. Two nuts are placed in front of the fire with a boy's and a girl's name on each. If one of the nuts jump into the fire, it does not like the other person, and if it jumps out it loves the person. In the autumn I gather blackberries and sloes from the hedges and fields.
