    put salt in the hole, and leaves it so for a few days.
    When you want to use it, cut a slice off and rub it on the chilblains.
    Get very hot water, and keep dipping them into it as many times as necessary.
    Rub methylated spirit on them.
    Headaches
    Get a bandage, and tie it tightly around the head.
    Rub vinegar on your forehead, and tie a handkerchief round it.
    Whooping Cough
    Boil tar on the fire, and the fumes that come up from it, kills the germs, and prevents it from spreading.
    If you had the whooping cough, and you were out, and came across a hairy worm without looking for it, pick it up, put it in you handkerchief, and put it round your neck, it is good for it.
    Earache
    Put sheep's wool in you ear.
    Pour boiling water in a bottle, and put the bottle to your ear, allowing the steam to go into your ear, and in a couple of seconds it will go.
    Hold the ear up, and pour warm water into it, and if it is sealed with wax it softens it,
