    There was a man one time, and one night he went out to the hill to look for his cows.

    (continued from previous page)
    see his cows, and the little boy said that they were here. When the man went as far as the little boy, he could not see any cows, and the boy was as far away as ever. The boy was going furder away every time, and the man saw that it wasent a boy at all but a fairy. The man lifted his eyes of the fairy, and when he looked at him again, he was like any common man. The man went home, and he never got his cows. The fairies took away his cows, and only the man went home he would be taken away himself.
