    Sometimes when I come home from school I hear mother complaining about the fire not burning properly. One may be sure of the next day being wet. When the smoke of the chimney rises up it blows both sides with the wind and if it goes up straight the weather is going to be good. If it blows down there is going to be bad weather.
    In our district the dog has a habit of eating grass before it rains. The cat turns her back to the fire when there is going to be high wind.
    The thunder storm is the worst storm of all. Every animal is afraid of thunder for they all run off when they hear the rattle of thunder. The dog and other farm animals gather into their houses. The sheep all gather together in one flock
