    a very small hole, and looked through it. A strange sight met his eyes. He saw six beautiful ladies, each lady dancing with a man. In a corner of the fort, he saw a band of men, each man playing a different musical instrument. The man who was watching all this sat down on the ground to have a better view of what was going on in the fort, but when he looked through the hole again, there was nothing to be seen. Everyone and everything had disappeared.
    About a year and a half ago a man named Dillon was going home with a cow from Killagh, which is about four miles from Aughrim, and he met a beautiful lady. She asked him if he would sell the cow, but he said that he would not. She asked him a couple of times but he said that there was no use in asking because he was determined to keep his cow. The beautiful lady said that he would be sorry for not selling the cow.
    He did not mind, but continued his way home. As he was opening the
