    The graveyard is square in shape, is on a higher level than the road and is entered by a narrow iron gate. There are a few trees growing in it. A family named Finnegan live beside it and the graveyard lies between their house and the Catholic Church.
    The other graveyard, Lickerrig, is the older of the two and dates back to the Penal times. This, too, has the ruins of an old Church whose walls are ivy-grown. It is about a mile from the public road and is approached by a laneway which leads off the main Athenry-Loughrea road to the right. It is in the townland of Riverville and parish of Carrowbane.
