    Once upon a time there was a landlord living in St. Cleran's . . .

    Gate one of his own workmen fired a shot at him. He made out it was another man by the name of Anthony Daly. It was not Anthony Daly but one of his own workmen whose nick name was Laimin.
    Anthony Daly was arrested and was put on his trial, and was sentenced to be hanged on the top of Sea Finn hill, about three miles east of St Cleran’s.
    When he was at Galway his coffin was put on a common car, and he was sitting on his own coffin eating a bun. When he was two or three miles outside Galway, the army that was with him gave him leave to go but he would not. He said, as the sentence was given for him to die he was satisfied to die.
