    Burke who was a landlord in it at the time. Carheen got its name from a town that was built in it long ago. The ruins of these old houses are to be seen in it at present.
    Redmond Merihan is the oldest man in the district. He is close on seventy years. He can tell Irish stories. About forty years ago many people left the district for America. There is a river running through the district called the Carheen river.
    There is a wood in the district. It is all oak trees that is in it. It is rather small and the owner of the wood alone, uses the timber
