- Travelling people still call to my home. The same people have been doing so for many years. They are very poor. They sell small articles. People buy from them. They obtain supplies in the big towns. These travellers are generally welcome. They usually remain two or three nights each time. They sleep in camps. They don’t have food with them. They accept sugar, tea, bread, meat, flour, potatoes and milk. The majority of them travel by cars. They travel in families. The best known of them are the Wards, the Donohoe’s and the Donovan’s.
