    but on several occasions two stones for each goal that was used. Hurleys were also the same formerly as at present but they were home made.
    There were other outdoor amusements such as handball and weight-throwing. These (weight) pastimes were practices in the parish of Ballymana. They were often challenged by other players at sports in Castle Waly, Loughrea, Kilchreest and other small towns in the Co. of Galway.
