   kept is called the cró or byre. They are tied two ways with a clasp and round there neck. The one round there neck is called the loirgneán. A bone or a horse shoe is hung in the byre for look. It is believed that if you would sing while milking cows they would give you more milk. People believe that fairies milk the cows. People put a rag round the cow's tail before calving for fear the fairies would bring the calf.
