    a man named Michael Bleahan had cattle out in a field and they were killed.
    In Curragh village there was a hill about one hundred feet high. One night when there was terrible lightening that came in the shape of a fork and it struck the hill and it rooted up all the ground for a half a mile.
    There was once a terrible thunderstorm and lightning which affected our district very badly. It began on a Monday and lasted until Friday about the year eighteen thirty eight. There were four men killed who were trying to save their cattle and were killed by lightening. When thunder blast the number of seconds counted between the thunder and the lightening is said to be the number of miles away.
    Snowfall
    About six years ago there was a very heavy snowfall that lasted for a week. It was about six feet high. All traffic was stopped for four days. There was a goods train coming from Woodlawn station and going to Ballinasloe station. When it was coming near
