- In the middle of the eighteenth century there lived near Ahascragh a man by the name of Lowe. He owned hundreds of acres of land and a big house which is still occupied. The house and lands are now known as 'Lowville'. In the year about 1760 he built on the lands two round buildings. The buildings are still to be seen yet and are known as 'Low's Folly'.Evelyn Cahill age 14
