- (continued from previous page)Signs of fine weather:-
In hilly districts sheep and horses come from low to high ground and remain there till the weather changes. When smoke ascends straight up towards the sky it is a very good sign. Sunset omens: Clouds are reliable omens of approaching weather and the best time to make observations is at sunset or about an hafl an hour afterwards.
A light blue sky, with a few puffy clouds, undefined at edges, is a fine weather sky.
Copper tinted clouds with silvery edges indicate thunder storms.
Fishermen fear a yellow sunset, for it denotes very heavy gales.- Collector
