    crowbars and they were called, "The Crowbar Bregade." A man named Patsy Skerry who lived in Rathorpe, Tubber, was evicted because he could not pay the rent.
    People had also to give donations to the Protestant church even though they were Catholics. They had to pay to of their salary that they earned every year. Around this part of the country farms got very small because when they old man of the house would be dying he would divide the land among his sons and it would be very small when it was all divided.
